Summary
“Perhaps I could help somehow?” Sherlock offers hesitantly, needing to be able to do something, to solve something.
“Find me a suitable girlfriend?” John jokes bitterly.
“I could do that. I’m sure I could design an algorithm that uses data to find you the perfect date.” Sherlock reaches for his notebook and pen, already scribbling down ideas, unaware of John staring incredulously at him. At the sound of John’s mug thunking on the wooden table top Sherlock looks up, raising an eyebrow in query.
“W..what?” John crosses his arms and bites at the inside of his bottom lip, studying Sherlock intently before arriving at a decision. “Oh, what the hell. Go on then."

Summary
Sherlock is fussing with his hair, trying to position a small pair of feline ears. He should look ludicrous, like some sort of poor drag queen kitten, but the drying up of John's mouth and the stirring in his groin would indicate that sex god would be a more appropriate description. John's gaze travels slowly down the length of Sherlock's lithe form, taking in every detail. His body is swathed in form fitting matt Lycra, every curve and dip of muscle sharply defined.

“Surely my use of the word ‘partner’ was a rather large clue, brother mine?” Once again, Mycroft’s words are softly delivered but his growing irritation at Sherlock’s distracted attention shows in the minuscule downturn of his mouth. “You go as part of a couple; romantic, of course.” Mycroft sneers slightly at the concept before continuing. “You are relatively famous, that should be enough to entice someone into spending time with you. Surely some pretty young thing will be eager to spend time with the famous Sherlock Holmes and his infamous temperament; it will only be for four days, after all.” He has chosen his words with care, knowing they will get a rise from his brother and sure enough ….
“Pretty young thing!” Sherlock spits, his pale eyes suddenly blazing, full attention finally on his brother. “I don’t want some insipid person fluttering their eyelashes at me and simpering at my every word! What I want….” Sherlock trails off, aware that he has already said too much.
“Indeed.” Mycroft raises an eyebrow and leans forward once more in his chair, hands templed, an unconscious echo of Sherlock’s favoured pose. “Then ask him.”

What if everything we thought we knew from season 3 and 4 isn't quite how it happened?
“You’re going to need to acknowledge my presence at some point, Sherlock.” The voice echoes in the sparse room, its self-righteous tones unsoftened by the feminine tones. His only visible reaction is to hunch his shoulders up further and clasp his hands so tightly together that the colour leeches out of his skin.

Festive violin music can be heard as John walks down the stairs, the sounds warming John’s heart even as they soothe the last of his concerns about leaving Rosie overnight. Sherlock is looking out of the window, his body slightly turned as he plays; John just has time to register a deep purple frock coat, beige, well fitting trousers and black knee-high boots before Sherlock turns around to face him, the perfection of his playing falters as he plays a series of wrong notes before stopping completely. Sherlock seems stunned at John’s appearance and John has to admit to feeling fairly stunned himself
