“You don’t mean it,” Caitlyn replied, and Vi’s expression changed from - she didn’t know what. She was too drunk, and too woozy, and too filled with feeling to unpack or process or do anything but react. Vi’s face contorted from something into confusion, hesitation.
“I don’t?” Vi asked, and it was the right thing to say, because it allowed Caitlyn to cling onto her devices and push her narrative. It was the wrong thing to say, because it slowly crushed the hope that had built in Caitlyn’s chest.
“You don’t,” Caitlyn continued, “Vi, you can’t.”
"Why not?" was the reply.

Caitlyn froze, both pistols wavering in midair, then lowered with a stunned expression. She took in the yellow eyes, the hulking red fur, the sarcastic tone, and all at once she was assailed by memories - of running in the fields outside of Piltover, lying on her back in the green rolling hills, cheek to cheek with a stout, fit teenager with eyes like ice and a mouth that spelled out trouble.
“Vi?” Caitlyn asked.

"Let's say two people made a bet about us becoming a couple, and the person that bet we could become a couple, told me they would give me the money if I helped them win."Kiramman crosses her arms, both of her eyebrows shooting up, Vi couldn't blame her. She wouldn’t have believed it at first either. "And you are asking me to help you? Pretend that we’re together?" she asks, her pompous accent more noticeable than normal, the accent Vi should hate, but— for some reason, didn't? "Why would I do that?"
Vi sighs, shaking her head and taking another step closer. "I don't know," she shrugs with another lopsided grin. Looking Kiramman in the eyes, she remembers Viktor's message and takes a leap of faith. "Is there something pretending to go out with me could help you with?"
