  • he's like 75 I doubt he knows what fanfiction and AO3 are but it'd be funny if he lurked on here
  • in State of Terror they don't give Doug a ton of backstory so I'm expanding upon his backstory here
  • I wasn't sure which real life president Doug was based on
  • but I personally think he's a combo of Bill Obama and Biden
  • he has a dead wife and kicks the Trump character out of office so that's Biden
  • he's rivals with Ellen and makes her his secretary of state so that's Obama
  • and I feel he and Ellen may develop feelings for each other so that's Bill
  • they never describe his appearance in the book aside from calling him handsome
  • but I envision him as some white dude in his fifties so like your standard white guy Democrat
  • this fic contains spoilers for the book just a heads up for anyone who hasn't read it

  Summary

  Having enjoyed reading his wife’s novel State of Terror, Bill Clinton decides to write some fanfiction about it to post on his super-secret AO3 account. Several months after the events of the book, Secretary of State Ellen Adams and President Doug Williams, once bitter adversaries, have developed a good rapport and frequently enjoy meals together at the White House. A conversation about the flower arrangement on their table during one particular lunch gets Doug to open up to Ellen about a painful event in his past, and paves the way for healing.

  A ridiculous Cinderella AU that nobody asked for but that I wrote anyways. The kingdom of America is entering its next coronation cycle and is about to select its newest king or queen. Noblewoman Cinderodham thinks she's got what it takes to win the crown, but her wicked stepfather, meddlesome stepbrothers, and a sinister cat are out to thwart her chances at every turn and keep her a prisoner in her own home. Some mice, some magic, and an encounter with the forty-second king just might be enough to help her break free.
