    Summary

“Crowley,” says Aziraphale, and that’s it. Just that, just Crowley’s name—and yet Crowley would do almost anything to hear him say it like that (like Aziraphale is happy, like Aziraphale is surprised by something Crowley has said or done or showed him and inordinately pleased by it) every single day.

Aziraphale’s fingers slide up a bit further, and they make a delicate circle around Crowley’s wrist. Crowley has to resist the urge to purr. He’s a snake, not a fucking kitten.

    Aziraphale takes Crowley to dinner.

    Bookmarker's Notes

A pining, disgruntled Crowley who doesn't know what to do when Aziraphale finally catches up with him (and then promptly rakes a bit of a lead)? Sign me the heck up! :D

    Summary

Crowley gets up on an elbow, facing Aziraphale in the starlight. Taking off his sunglasses, he peers into the angel’s eyes. “Aziraphale, are you trying to get rid of me?”

Aziraphale starts. “What? No! I never!” He looks down, suddenly very interested in the weave of the blanket underneath them. Nearly too soft to be heard he says, “Quite the opposite, actually.”

    Bookmarker's Notes

Okay so this one is maybe a tad further along on the mushy scale than my other Good Omens recs so far but it's so soft and sweet--I loved that it was Aziraphale trying to start things between him and Crowley, and how he ended up giving the exact opposite impression for a moment there. I also love that this takes place at night under the stars because it's one of my very favorite settings in the world. And excellent feel good fic :D

    Summary

Crowley had always trusted in the universe to look out for him, one way or another. And he’d never quite realised that, in all of his optimism, he’d somehow included Aziraphale in that assumption. That if there was something out there in the universe watching his back – be it God, Satan, someone else, or just the natural forces of cosmic entropy – then it only made sense that it would be watching out for the angel as well.

Crowley had been wrong about a lot of things – one of the perils of having been around since the Beginning.

He didn’t think he’d ever been as wrong about anything as he was about this.

AKA - Aziraphale didn't manage to find a body in time for Armageddon, leading Crowley to the conclusion that, rather than discorporated, he must have been smote.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Oh, my aching heart! I loved Crowley's despair and denial so much! The way he's trying to convince himself he's mostly fine about things where it matters least is just heartbreaking in the best way!

A coin toss is an illogical, inconsistent way of making decisions that could never lead one to the proper decisions. Obviously a demon would be fond of them. But then why would an angel?
