Summary
When John's wedding gets horribly derailed on the big day itself, it falls to Sherlock to help him pick up the pieces, even if it means letting others do the sleuthing for once. But as the police embarks on what looks like a simple murder investigation, the case soon turns into something else entirely as more and more details about Mary's life emerge. But Mary wasn't the only person keeping secrets and Sherlock knows it's only a matter of time until his own will come to light.

Summary
According to folklore, the nights between Christmas and Twelfth Night are the most dangerous of the year. During them, the Wild Hunt rides, and ghosts and demons come out to haunt unsuspecting and misbehaving folk. An investigation of a series of strange occurrences leads John and Sherlock to Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh Marches, to face ghosts weird and ancient as well as close and personal – and perhaps to start the new year on a more hopeful note than the previous one.

Summary
“Surely my use of the word ‘partner’ was a rather large clue, brother mine?” Once again, Mycroft’s words are softly delivered but his growing irritation at Sherlock’s distracted attention shows in the minuscule downturn of his mouth. “You go as part of a couple; romantic, of course.” Mycroft sneers slightly at the concept before continuing. “You are relatively famous, that should be enough to entice someone into spending time with you. Surely some pretty young thing will be eager to spend time with the famous Sherlock Holmes and his infamous temperament; it will only be for four days, after all.” He has chosen his words with care, knowing they will get a rise from his brother and sure enough ….
“Pretty young thing!” Sherlock spits, his pale eyes suddenly blazing, full attention finally on his brother. “I don’t want some insipid person fluttering their eyelashes at me and simpering at my every word! What I want….” Sherlock trails off, aware that he has already said too much.
“Indeed.” Mycroft raises an eyebrow and leans forward once more in his chair, hands templed, an unconscious echo of Sherlock’s favoured pose. “Then ask him.”
