Odin disappeared from sight, going once more into Odin sleep, handing the country to Thor, along with the task of deciding the date of Loki’s death.

Instead of Thor striking Loki down in fury once Odin vaporizes, Jormungandr bites Thor. Loki tends the bite so Thor recovers, indeed, sees Loki holding Mjolnir with ease. Loki tells Thor the spell to prevent anyone else lifting it died with its caster. Thor is agog.

OMG, YES! Laufey gets the Casket, acknowledges Loki is his son, and takes Thor hostage, putting the SAME spell on him that Odin used on Loki, so Thor looks like a Jotun! If only Laufey could erase Thor's memory and make him Jotun the way Odin made Loki Aesir!
