I got hypothermia.” Wei Ying says all of this with the same easy demeanor that he uses when he tells playground stories about Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli, like he’s not discussing trauma. “When you get hypothermia once you’re more susceptible to it in the future, which is a fun side effect.” He shrugs and kisses Lan Zhan’s neck with lips that are still cold but not horribly so. “I just get cold easy now. I’m used to it.”
“Mn,” Lan Zhan says, and means, “We’ll fucking see about that.”
Or: Wei Ying is not allowed to be cold, therefore Lan Zhan must learn to knit.

“No,” she says, steadily. “This one doesn’t possess the core for it.” She pauses and raises her eyes to his, so boldly he finds it a little startling. “I believe that I can be of use to the Jiang sect in spite of that, and I have brought a gift to prove it. May I show you?”
Fully intrigued now, Jiang Cheng nods. The girl unslings the bundle from her back, unties a couple of straps, and unrolls it on the floor in a smooth motion.
Jiang Cheng is on his feet before he even consciously realizes it’s happened, and the reaction murmurs out through the hall. There, on a blanket that belongs on the back of a horse, are five Wen cultivator swords, offered to him by a girl who looks like the word “bumpkin” was invented specifically for her. What the fuck.
“Where did you get those?” he asks, instead of asking “What the fuck?” out loud, because that would be unbecoming of his status as sect leader.
The girl meets his eyes again, lifts her chin, and says simply, “I killed the men who carried them.”
Or: Fan Dingxiang cultivates the swole path. Jiang Cheng doesn't know how to handle that.

“Wei Ying,” Lan Zhan says, and when Wei Ying turns around, Lan Zhan has followed him into the kitchen and is doing something with the empty wine glass that could almost be termed fidgeting. His fingertips tense and relax, and Lan Zhan takes a deep breath and squares his shoulders almost imperceptibly. “Would you like me to cut your hair for you?”
Wei Ying’s brain skids to a halt. Oh. Huh. That would. That would be a hell of a lot easier, wouldn’t it? Lan Zhan would at least be able to see and touch the back of his head at the same time, and that’s half the battle. Even if it’s not a good haircut, it would be something, and it probably wouldn’t end with Wei Ying in tears, and it would end with Wei Ying having shorter hair, which is the only thing he really wants right now.
“Yeah,” he says, a little awed. “If you don’t mind then that would be great, Lan Zhan.” He can almost feel the breeze on his undercut again, spine tingling in anticipation.
Or: Lan Zhan offers to help out with Wei Ying's quarantine growout... with sexy results!

A Wei Ying no le importa, porque quien posea esa voz probablemente vendrá a salvarlo de las abejas como un maldito héroe mientras lleva puesta una especie de armadura. Eso es lo que se usa para atrapar abejas, ¿verdad?
"Tengo tantas abejas en la puerta de mi casa ahora mismo", dice, con la boca abierta antes de que pueda empezar a pensar en contenerla. "Es como una tormenta de arena de abejas ahí fuera. Hay tantas abejas. Salí de mi coche y sólo había abejas y no quiero estas abejas. ¿Quieres estas abejas? Por favor, dime que vendrás a buscar estas abejas. No puedo salir de mi casa y tengo suficiente comida para tal vez una semana pero luego tendré que aprender a cocinar frijoles secos y nadie quiere eso, especialmente yo." Wei Ying se queda sin aire, toma un respiro y añade tardíamente: "Me llamo Wei Ying. Hola".

There was some shuffling and then fiddling with the doorknob and Lan Zhan was considering the logistics of suing Nie Hausiang for emotional damages. The doorknob fiddling stopped alongside a loud groan and followed by a whine and then a thud.
“Wen Ning! Open the door! I dropped my keys!” a man’s voice whined, a pathetic moan following it, “It’s cold!"

Though currently, the honourable Hanguang Jun is more concerned about the wedding night than politics.
