When you love someone so much it shouldn't be so hard to apologize or die trying.

Jack refuses to let the Reaper be all he sees, when he looks at the grotesque nanite monster that wrecks its deadly havoc around the world.

He gets his wish. A honest conversation in the dark with the person that loathes him the most.

But then, Gabriel always liked to hate him. Maybe things could still get right in the end.

    Summary

When someone can't make it at the last minute, Hank Anderson is pressed into service at the DPD Charity Auction.

The gentleman who wins him is a thirty-something programmer who Hank feels is entirely too young for him. He's also relentless when it comes to getting what he wants, which is Hank, for more than just a charity auction date.

Hank is not about to admit he's a sugar baby.

    Summary

Hank Anderson is somewhat of a local legend.

Mostly because he didn't seem to exist until 20 years ago despite being much older than that. He's about the sea as much as you can get, spends long hours basically living on his boat. Man's a mariner, through and through. He works independently of any company or family business on his crab boat, and mainly sells to the restaurant inn on the docks for money and a room.

Hank works alone. And Connor has just been assigned to his boat.

    Summary

“Wait,” it comes out a horrified whisper.

If Connor heard it, he gives no inclination. “Josh!” He barks the name, head swiveling in search of its owner. Spying him near the bow of the ship, he nods his head to his rear left, “Man the rudder.”

“Stop! You can’t—,” Markus’ free fist comes down hard at the base of Henry’s spine, dropping him to his knees.

Weathered leather boots swim into his vision. Connor’s voice rains down on him from above, “I think you will find, Lord Henry, that I can. You can either walk on ship or be dragged. The choice is yours.”

    --

Connor takes Lord Henry captive. Not everything is as it seems.

    Summary

“Didn’t they warn you about the price you’ll have to pay, little lion?”

Hank peers at the unsteady shadow, unable to read their face, hiding behind a veil. Looking down at Cole again, he feels his heart beat strongly enough for them both.

“Anything you want, it’s yours,” Hank says, firmly decided.

“You.” The creature reaches a hand for him, an open palm facing upwards. “Your soul for the boy.”
    --
Hank trades his soul to watch his son grow up. In the end, what he gets out of the deal is nothing he could've expected.
