“What, does Andy chain you guys here?” Nile says, only half-kidding when she asks. They really are just a bit suspiciously loyal to her.
“We are born and we die in this restaurant,” Joe says, looking entirely serious. He’s joined them for the tour, like he’s brand-new too, but winking at Nicky for most of the time. “Then we come back to life the next night, a miracle to be beheld, and we serve food that is fit for the gods.”
“It helps that we actually like to work here,” Nicky adds.

Summary
They fall together, curled around each other’s figures, blood pouring out around them, until it becomes impossible to tell whose it belonged to. The fight continues on around their lifeless bodies while the sun burns and the city walls bear witness. What’s two more lives lost? What did their deaths mean? A better question: what did it take?

Summary
Nile and Andy could really use a break, so instead of diving into combat training they decide to go stay with Nicky and Joe at their apartment in southern Spain. Despite their extraordinary lives, Nicky and Joe's days are still filled with ordinary joys - cooking together, soaking up sunlight, falling more in love each day. It's possible, Nile realizes, that immortality doesn't have to be so daunting. (And maybe she's still surrounded by family, after all.)
