Summary
James Copley has his hands quite full handling a group of immortal mercenaries—including keeping tabs on Booker. A task that is considerably easier since the two have somehow fallen into a romantic relationship.
While Booker is still hurting from the consequences of his betrayal, James finds the Frenchman's sarcastic snark charming. The two widowers are kindred souls in increasingly similar ways as they work to redeem themselves and their actions.
However, when Copley is confronted by a face from the past, he is surprised to witness how protective immortals can be of their family and in turn how protective he is of them.
(This takes place after the film, in a nebulous time before Quynh's reappearance. No major spoilers for The Old Guard: Force Multiplied)
