Lance snorted and ducked forward, leaning into Keith and tipping his braided head back. He planted a kiss to his forehead from behind, and both of them froze in place, eyes wide. Keith felt like a vat of lava, eyes flicking confused and uncertainly between each of Lance's frozen ones. The crown of his head where Lance was kissing felt fuzzy, and his tingling hands felt like cotton.
When Lance moved again, removing his lips from Keith's forehead, he slapped his hands on the lower's shoulders and stood on the couch quickly, clearing his throat as loud and frankly painfully as he could. "Right!" He almost screamed, "So, uh! There you go! I'll see you at dinner!"
Keith learns to relax, and Lance learns talents can be utilized in different ways

“Hey, do you want a croissant? Or a cookie? They’re really good! My ma makes them all. What are you into? Take anything, seriously, whatever you want!” Bakery Guy keeps waving him over at a faster pace the closer Keith gets and as Keith approaches the table he backs off from where he was hunched like a dragon over a pile of leftover pastries.
“Uh…” Keith has no idea what the fuck is going on right now and he knows that his eyebrows are furrowed in a way that always makes Shiro laugh, but he can’t help it. What is happening.
Bakery Guy shoots a ray of pure sunlight out of his face directly into Keith’s eyes with his smile and tries again, “We don’t always sell everything pastry and bread wise, so I try to hook up the other vendors with some treats before we take everything to the women’s shelter downtown. Do you want anything?”
In which Keith and Lance fall in love over a farmers market season the same way they do everything else: a little bit backward and a whole lot stupid.
"Where's Lance, Pidge?" Keith asks as soon as the doctor is out of the room, annoyed, his head pounding slightly again.
"About that," Pidge mumbles and Keith looks up at her, his brows furrowing together when he sees she's looking at Shiro instead, her eyes squinted shut slightly. "There's something you need to know."
"Keith," Shiro starts, his hand back on Keith's shoulders, lips turned down into a pitiful frown. "A lot of things have changed these past three years."
"Okay," Keith says, shaking his head. "What's your point? I know things probably changed quite a bit."
"Well, you see Lance," Shiro says, pursing his lips together. "You and Lance..."
"You guys broke up," Pidge blurts out finally, making Keith snap his head in her direction, his heart rate picking up again. "You broke up a while ago, like... a bit over two years ago."
Keith has one rule: keep any interaction with a customer terse and professional. It's a rule he's strictly followed since he's started working at Shiro's shop.
Then Lance walks through the door and Keith thows professionalism right out the window, along with any semblance of dignity he had left.
