Summary
Once upon a time (20 or so years ago), I co-wrote "Whatever You Need" with Dannell Lites (RIP, sugah). In it, I mentioned Omar as part of Joseph's backstory. That led to this story, which got a lot darker than I originally intended. As always, my Joseph Wilson is comics-based, although this story alters the first time his powers manifest. Also, while the comics don't expressly state it (though there are clues), Joseph was born in England and thus is a dual citizen of the UK and the US. Adeline Kane and Joseph Wilson are © DC Comics; all other characters are mine.
In the event you want to read "Whatever You Need" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/16772338?view_full_work=true), I wrote the Joseph parts and Dannell wrote the Dick parts. The whole Dick-Bruce innuendo thing was Dannell's take on the Bat-duo's relationship, not mine. The story takes place during the events of New Teen Titans v2 #14-18 on Tamaran and later references what happens in New Teen Titans v2 #19 and #26-32. If you've never read the comics, the story probably won't make a whole lot of sense.

Summary
Annotated biography of the DC Comics original version of Jericho from the New Teen Titans, introduced in 1984. Includes rebirth in Geoff Johns' Teen Titans run of 2003, but ignores all later incarnations, especially the stupidity that was the New 52. Current DC version is practically a different character (in my opinion).

Summary
The thing is, Joey still wakes up in cold sweat sometimes because the memory of choking on his own blood. It’s still fresh on his mind. It probably always will be. It’s not really the kind of thing he can forget. It’s the kind of thing that makes his heart try to beat out of his chest and make the air feel thinner, which just makes things worse, because the sensation of not getting enough air is something he would really rather not revisit.
The thing is, choking on your own blood and drowning in a New York harbor is a remarkably similar feeling.
