Summary
Shapeshifters. Unnoticed by normal humans, this species is more common than one could think. They blend with humans, since one of their shape is exactly like that, but they couldn't be more different.
The family of animals they could morph into was hereditary and usually the families wouldn't be mixed. Felidae with Felidae, Canidae with Canidae. Sometimes, though, the families would mix, simply because every shapeshifter had a soulmate and no one could control that.
Every family had a special and unique ability. Some could heal from deadly wounds, others could detoxify themselves from every poison.
Some males could even bear children, if fate wanted. No one could tell the reason, though.
Shapeshifters could live long lives, up to thousands of years.They all had to follow some simple rules: humans must never know about shapeshifters, unless they were part of the family by marriage or adoption; never use their supernatural strength on a human.
