Summary
When Suki first joined Avatar Security Agency, she’d been under the impression she’d be taking on assignments protecting the innocent, the gentle, and those otherwise incapable of protecting themselves.
But when Ozai Sozin—aka the Phoenix Kingpin, Firelord of Crime—is arrested and his criminal empire begins to crumble, Suki is assigned to take Ozai’s daughter, Azula, to a safe house to protect her from the warring crime families vying to take his place.
To make things more complicated, the 23-year-old protégé and heir-apparent to the Fire Clan has no interest in being protected. She’d much rather take up her father’s mantle as Republic City’s new reigning crime lord, and minor bumps in the road like abduction, attempted assassinations, an overprotective big brother, and being trapped in a safe house with an uptight, very sexy bodyguard are not going to stop her.

Summary
Nile hasn't stopped to think that maybe it's been so long since Andy needed to take care of herself, that she genuinely doesn't know how to do it, now. That perhaps, that means that Andy doesn't know about doctors, or over-the-counter medication, or glasses, or vaccines. Perhaps, what Nile thought was obvious isn't to Andy. And it feels overwhelming to think that something so easy can be so out of Andy's reach, simply because of how long she's lived. Impossible to imagine that maybe, Nile, too, will forget one day.
Or, six times Nile had to deal with Andy being mortal.

“Let’s make a bet.”
Catra straightened, ears perking up. She liked bets. She liked winning them.
“If we win the game tonight, you’ll go to the dance with me tomorrow.”
Laughter ripped from Catra’s throat. She tossed her head back, fangs bared in open-mouthed giggles. “Wow, you really don’t want to go with me. The Rebels kick our asses every year.”
“That’s not true!” Indignation sparked and died in Adora’s blue eyes. “Well, we almost had them last year.”
“Almost isn’t winning, Adora. Besides, if we don't win,” asked Catra, shuffling to fit her arms into the sleeves of Adora’s letterman as discreetly as possible, “what’s in it for me?”
Adora blinked. “What do you want?”
You.
Not that she was stupid enough to say that.

Summary
“You’re going to owe me a drink,” Catra says. Her movements are awkward as she repositions the baby — but she’s so gentle. She has retracted her claws, but she still gingerly cups the back of the baby’s head as if scared she might somehow harm him. “Where did you even get this?”
Adora takes another drink. “The mom just, like, handed him to me and ran off.”
“Weird,” Catra says, and then — as if on instinct — she starts doing this weird bouncing thing, the baby’s soft, peach-fuzz still head cupped in her hand. “Who does that?”
Adora nods, agreeing vehemently. “Right?”
“If I had a baby I wouldn’t just hand it to some stranger,” says Catra with a roll of her eyes.
It's such a simple sentiment, yet it makes Adora's world spin.
