Summary
Midoriya Izuku died six months ago in the dead of the night. He and his mother went out in a sleeping, burning glory; a strange, complete accident.
That’s what the papers said, at least. They certainly paid no mind to the boy walking around in the quiet hours of the night. They certainly never asked about Midoriya Hisashi either.
Todoroki Shouto felt like he should have died a long time ago. He certainly was considering that now, staring down at this stupid man and his stupid, rusted wire. A strange, complete waste of a fight; a tragic death in a gross, empty backroad. His father would just burn at the news.
That thought was almost enough to make him smile, green flashing in his vision as his fate finally aligned.

Summary
Musutafu was four hours from their previous penthouse apartment in the heart of Tokyo, nestled in the cold mountains of northern Japan. According to its Internet page, there were less than a thousand residents. The town itself was populated with only a single high school and a single, barren train station.
Fuyumi said that was a good thing. After everything that happened, they deserved somewhere small and quiet to build a new home in.
Nonetheless, this town was weird.

“I am ready.” Shouto protested. “I wouldn’t have said something if I wasn’t.”
“But you don’t know everything.” Izuku insisted. She faltered. “I-I haven’t been honest and I should have and you deserve that. You should know everything. I’m going to tell you, I promised, but it can’t be here and it couldn’t be the dorms either.”
He was...lying about something. But what?
“I don’t understand.”
Shouto leaned back in her seat and inspected the tabletop while she contemplated. They had always been honest with each other. Or, she was always honest. She didn’t even know what he could be lying about.
Or, Shouto was ready to take things to the next level, but something was persistently driving a wedge between her and Izuku.

“As you may know, as the class representatives, Yaoyorozu-chan and I do paperwork on Tuesdays after class. Today, we were filing something concerning that last villain incident and I was forced to add it to Midoriya-kun’s file. There, I noticed his date of birth and realized it’s next week!”
Izuku’s birthday. Shouto furrowed her eyebrows as the class erupted.
Shouto was about to object, because surely that wasn’t right. If it was Izuku’s birthday, he would have told her. However, she quickly realized, Iida could be telling the truth.
Even when she thought back to last year, she realized she had absolutely no idea when Izuku’s birthday was.
She was the worst girlfriend in the world.

One For All. That was apparently the real name of Midoriya’s quirk—Shouto’s quirk now, after that mid-battle kiss. With Midoriya unconscious, Shouto must grapple with a quirk he never signed up for, untangling his own complicated feelings around his best-friend-slash-crush forcing a quirk onto him he never knew about.Shouto bristled, leaning into Bakugo’s space just as much as he was leaning into Shouto’s. “It’s Midoriya’s quirk! Not All Might’s!”
“It’s yours now, you idiot!”
Shouto grabbed the front of Bakugo’s shirt, pulling him in close and glaring into his red eyes. “I. Don’t. Want it.”
Shouto was done with legacies. There were legacies that were inescapable—like those you were born to—but this wasn’t one of them. This was a legacy forced onto him by someone he trusted.
“Well, you have it,” Bakugou spat back, shoving Shouto to the ground. “Now you have to figure out what to do with it.”

Summary
Shouto tries to ignore the way Izuku’s hero costume stretches and pulls on his body in all the right ways. He uses every ounce of willpower he has not stare at the green spandex as it accentuates and highlights Izuku’s muscles. Somehow, Shouto had never noticed just how much Izuku had grown up until now.
Gone is the short, round faced boy with the disobedient head of green curls and an overbite from too much nervous pen chewing. Here to stay is the sturdy, hulking, tall Izuku, with a tight undercut and a domesticated crescendo of product-tamed ringlets. God, Shouto wonders to himself, when did they become adults?
Or
A grown adult Shouto finds a love letter that Izuku had intended to give him in high school and suddenly unrequited feelings aren't quite so unrequited.

He doesn’t understand how this superhero came to exist; all he knows is that there was no news one day, and then blown up headlines the next. They talked about a bus full of people saved by a masked person who used his incredible strength to keep the vehicle from falling off the side of a bridge when the brakes stopped working. Other, smaller stories popped up from those who recognized him--or at least, the green and white mask he wore.
