Summary
“So what if I ate the cheeseburger?” Tony shouts, throwing a wrench at Loki’s head. The bastard dodges it easily as he stalks closer. “That doesn’t mean I belong to you!”
“Oh, not to me,” Loki says lowly, a smile like honey slowly spreading its way across his face. “But with me? Surely you’ve heard of Persephone.”
“A cheeseburger isn’t some fucking mystical pomegranate, you smirking lunatic.” It isn’t, it just isn’t. Not even close. "You aren't even Greek!" he adds, throwing another wrench which is dodged just as easily.
Loki spreads his hands wide, posing like the showman he is. “I think you’ll find that a pomegranate symbolizes the fruit of the dead. Your cheeseburger, made of dead flesh, was topped with fruit. It’s close enough for the symbolism to bind.”
“Ah-hah! There’s no fucking fruit on a cheeseburger,” Tony says triumphantly, finger pointing accusingly at Loki. “I fucking win, no going back to crazy town with you. I stay here in my workshop, and you fucking leave before I call the Avengers.”
“Oh Stark,” Loki murmurs, almost affectionately. “A tomato is a berry, you ignorant fool.”

Summary
“I was reading online about different things to do,” Maria says excitedly, pulling out the travel binder she takes with them anytime they go on a vacation. It will be filled with information about local attractions, restaurants, theatre and musical venues and what is playing.
“There’s a wax museum--”
“It’s probably awful,” Tony says.
“And a Natural History museum--”
“Oh please god no,” Howard says.
“And, oh, look at this one! I think you’ll both be interested in this one!” Maria says, rooting around in the binder, then pulling her hand up to reveal an extended middle finger.
They spend the rest of the car journey finding ways to surreptitiously flip each other off. Howard pulls a middle finger out of his coat pocket; Tony finds a middle finger up his nose; Maria finds another middle finger in her purse and applies it to her lips like lipstick.
Tony's parents take him to Ireland as a graduation present--Tony does what he does best and gets into trouble. But this time he might not manage to get out of it.

Summary
I have always maintained that my body, and its constituent parts, is merely transport for the seat of my intellect. Growing and fine-tuning the great, glittering web of neurons and chemicals that comprise my brain was my priority for much of my life. Aside from my brain I valued my eyes, ears, and nose for their necessary intermediary roles. Everything else was acknowledged, but hardly important. If I could have been a brain in a jar, and still managed the business of solving puzzles from my watery cell, I would have been pleased.
I valued my heart only marginally more than I valued my spleen, which is to say not much at all.
Of course I’m using “heart” colloquially. I am well aware that emotions are products of the mind.
This document is to be published after both John Watson and myself are dead, because John Watson is a spoil sport of the highest calibre, and does not want me to discuss what I deem to be one of my most important and compelling cases of my career.

Summary
None of them are really sure what this is. In the years that they have worked and lived together, this has never happened before.
But here they all are, seated in the living room at six-in-the-morning, watching as Deadpool—who insists on being called Santa, and is in fact wearing a Santa hat—wrassles with a gigantic red bag of presents. He kicks an arm chair across the floor until it’s directly in front of the tree, and then sits down purposefully.
“Okay kids!” he says, digging his hand in to rummage around. “The first presents go to--”

Hannibal has effectively replaced Will in every facet of his life by the time he is released from prison at the hands of the Chesapeake Ripper. The man takes his job, his friends, his one-time crush, and his pride.
In a spiteful random purchase made at a gas station, Will finds a way for two to play that game, and puts in motion a much wilder method of replacing Hannibal than he was really planning for.
