Hale has been subtly steering Stiles out of picklish sitches for some time when suddenly one night, Stiles is snatched right off the streets and bunged (none too politely) to a pipe in a basement.

Inspired by the song Wrapped Around Your Finger by The Police. I'd say PWP, except there's a soupçon of plot, given that it's a story worked around the lyrics of the song.

In which lwj stops emoting and reacting entirely and wwx is the only one who realizes that something is terribly wrong. But no one believes him, and so he has to try to figure everything out all on his own. Meanwhile, lwj is trapped inside a body that functions as an emotionless, rule-abiding automaton -- more or less desperately screaming for help and not able to break through in the slightest. But wwx is on the case, and we all know he never gives up. Lwj has never been more thankful for that trait.

Four years after the Yiling Patriarch met his end, the Jin clan discovers that the sole remaining Wen was taken in by Lan Wangji, and demand that the child be handed over to face "justice." Lan Zhan was sure his family and clan loved his son, was sure that they would never hold a child responsible for the crimes--real or imagined--of his clan. He was sure his brother would never allow it, sure he would never allow Lan Zhan's son, his nephew to suffer for something that was not his fault. He was sure his brother would never betray righteousness for intersect politics.
He was wrong.
Forced to flee his sect like a thief in the night for the sake of his son--Wei Ying's son, their son--Lan Zhan must now find a way to survive and raise A-Yuan on his own. He is determined to find a way. Their son will be protected. Their son will grow up safe and happy. Even if Wei Ying never heard it, never knew, Lan Zhan made a promise the day he found A-Yuan in the Burial Mounds. If it is the last thing he does, he will keep it.

And Miles To Go Before I Sleep

wangxianficrecs queue. archived at 9/?.Ooooh, this is delicious. (By author of Wei Wuxian, Gusulan's best kindergarten teacher series Joy In the Midst of These Things.) I love this whole concept with a passion, and damn, does Author deliver all the angst and anguish and betrayal and fierce protectiveness that Lan Wangji experiences when he discovers that his brother appears perfectly willing (albeint a bit guilty) to hand his baby over to the Jin Sect to... not kill, but make an example out of.
So he plans their escape and then whisks his son away in the night, leaving behind an empty jingshi and two forehead ribbons, one large and one small. Their adventure is only just beginning, though, because they can never rest, they are being sought by the Jin (and who knows who else). In the midst of this, though, lwj manages to be the Best Dad, and to love his son, and to follow the creed he and wwx came up with: to protect the innocent with no regrets.
All this leads to QUITE A CLIFFIE at the end of chapter 9, and I'm DYING. (But also, don't let that stop you from reading this story, because you will miss out on such a wonderful tale if you do!)

Lan Wangji claps a hand to his mouth and, to his horror, feels his mouth opening to answer despite having no intention to do so. Clamping it shut again takes a great effort.

Ah, this was a lovely balance of humor and feels, and I am digging it.
In which, during a conference, lwj suddenly realizes that his internal narration... isn't internal after all. Wwx quickly whisks him off, but it's struggle to not say the things he's been bottling up inside for so many years....

Lan Wangji frowns at the reminder. He will have to deal with those Jin curators after this. And anyone else who is still giving Wei Ying a hard time.
Wei Ying bursts out laughing. "Too cute, Lan Zhan, Too cute! I really should tuck you in my pouch and carry you with me everywhere."
Yes, please, Lan Zhan thinks, but has the presence of mind to hastily slap over his mouth so all that comes out is a muffled "mmph." Wei Ying looks at him curiously and Lan Wangji's cheeks heat. If this is what it feels like to be a normal person, always blurting out whatever random thoughts cross your mind, then he does not care for it.

"All right, all right," Wei Ying says, mollifying. "It's just he's a little vulnerable right now. So it would be better for everyone to keep this quiet and limit who he interacts with."
"Too late," Jiang Wanyin says, meeting Lan Wangji's eyes.
"Ahaha," Wei Ying laughs weakly as Lan Wangji gets out of bed. "Lan Zhan, you're awake! Why don't you go prepare some tea while I see Jiang Cheng out?" He takes Lan Wangji's arm, attempting to steer him in the other direction.
"I don't want him here," Lan Wangji tells him, then turns to Jiang Wanyin. "I don't want you here."
Jiang Wanyin's eyebrows raise to the ceiling. "He seems fine to me," he says, voice impossibly dry.
