    Summary

In the years between 1913 and 1920, the fight for a Constitutional amendment giving American women the right to vote was reinvigorated as a new generation of young activists protested against a backdrop of the first World War and a global pandemic.

Widowed Claire Beauchamp Randall has taken up the cause at the behest of her friend, Geillis Duncan. Soon after, she meets James Fraser, himself newly arrived from Scotland and determined to forge his own path in his new country, but who finds himself smitten by a certain Sassenach. As Claire awakens to the strength within herself, she becomes a fierce advocate for women's rights, but discovers that there other desires within her that she cannot ignore.

Since the centennial of American women winning the vote last year was nearly forgotten by the media and the public, I thought it might be fun to situate our beloved Jamie and Claire in the early twentieth century and explore this period a wee bit. I promise an action-packed, empowering, sexy-romantic ride! No dry and dusty old history here. You have my word. Ultimately, like all fics, the focus is on the love story of our two favorite characters. All the rest, no matter how interesting, is secondary.
