    Summary

The realization of how desperately Felix wants to see Sylvain in this moment, right now, as he's bruising his shoulder against yet another unmovable door, how much he needs to find him breathing, needs to find him here, needs to find him unburied, hammers at the walls of Felix's awareness like it means to break them. He's been ignoring for months now, with wild success, the incoming sucker punch that is the magnitude of Sylvain’s importance to him. If he never had time for it at the Academy, he certainly didn't have time for it at war. Edelgard and her armies were bearing down. He would deal with it later. Tomorrow. Soon.

    It's now.

(After the taking of Fhirdiad, Felix can't find Sylvain.)

    Summary

“Section two, paragraphs three to seven,” Hubert says, pointing at the relevant document without breaking eye contact. Ferdinand narrows his eyes.

    “Ships and marine delivery.”

    “Precisely.”

They stay like that, resolutely staring, for several moments. Ferdinand fidgets with his collar. Hubert’s smirk widens.

“Oh no,” Dorothea stage whispers from the side, “they are both establishing dominance!”

“I think,” Edelgard clears her throat, and from the corner of his eyes Hubert can see her putting a firm hand over Dorothea’s elbow, “we should allow Ministers von Vestra and von Aegir to clear up whatever misunderstanding they must before we finish. There is tea in the Summer Parlour.”

in which border taxes are negotiated, a Brigid diplomatic attaché is moderately scandalised, and Dorothea has a perfectly lovely time.

    Summary

Ferdinand takes a hit intended for Edelgard. Hubert goes a little overboard. Feelings are discussed.

“What does he have to be embarrassed about?” Ferdinand asks, confused. Edelgard raises an eyebrow.

“Have you seen the throne room?”

He has. A crack nearly down to the foundation, caused by a spell that onlookers said held more power than anything they had ever felt, that had left behind only the smoking bones of the assassin.

    Summary

Set in rural Church River, Ontario, Spring Thaw is the story of Levi Ackerman, a deaf novelist trying to come to grips with a farm he doesn't want, and a loss he never asked for.

When members of his farming community begin to fall ill, a young environmental technician is assigned to survey Levi's farm and the surrounding countryside.

Armin Arlert is bright, passionate and hopelessly awkward. Raised by deaf family members, the complex language of signing is as natural to him as breathing.

Beyond a common language, Levi and Armin discover that they have both navigated loss and bereavement, and both have a desire to honour their loved ones through living with purpose.

As spring unfolds, their budding friendship catches fire; by turns clumsy, witty, sensual and sarcastic.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into rural Ontario life, the colourful characters and the love story at it's core!

A beautiful story that made me cry and smile. It felt like stepping into a home that was built upon past mistakes and filled high with warm love. This fic is so beautifully written and has crawled into my heart and taken a piece of it to feed on. But I will let it, because it has become very dear to me. This will forever be an example of good literature. Of literature that holds a soul in the palms of his hands tenderly, coaxing it to grow.

Even if you are unfamiliar with the snk fandom, this work is an amazing read and doesn't require any prior knowledge. It is now easily my favourite fanfic, and one of my favourite pieces of literature in the whole world.

A personal favourite with some very delicious BDSM elements.
