Summary
Storm was well behind them and the sea was settling and Olu sagged to sit on the deck, legs like seaweed after hours of struggling to keep his feet, sliding back and forth across the deck to tie things, grab things, re-tie other things. Soaked to the skin and aching and hands scraped bloody, but the sun was shining down on him now and thank fuck, they were out.

Summary
Finally, Eliot says, “Quentin.” He turns to look him in the eye, his face settling into a casual smile. “We’re friends, right? We know each other pretty well?”
“Ye-es?” Quentin says.
“And you’re a brave boy,” Eliot says. “Open to delving into the unknown. Looking for your next great adventure.”
“I, uh.” That isn’t how Quentin would normally describe himself, but somehow — with Eliot’s hazel eyes shining at him, the full force of his warm, encouraging energy focused on Quentin’s face — he sits up a little straighter, and says, “Sure, I guess.”
“Great,” Eliot says brightly, “so how would you like to pretend we’re dating for a week so we can get into the most secretive magical couples’ party of the modern era?”

“Coaxing his roommate into my bed,” Kady said.
“Point, Kady,” Margo said.
“I’m not doing it. I need a job. Not a Quentin. I can’t afford to take anyone out. And he said no. I’m going to be waiting tables in Jersey or—”
“Working on a goat farm. I know,” Margo said. “I know you love goats. And drama. It makes sense.” Eliot hated goats. Their eyes. They'd seen things.
Kady put her beer down with a thunk. “I’ll waive your rent for October.”
“You’ll what now?”
“I’ll pay for your date. Waive your rent. Just get Quentin to go to grad school prom with you so Julia will go with me.”
“Jesus, Kady,” Margo drawled. “What’s this girl’s deal? Does her pussy taste like cotton candy?”
Kady groaned. “I wouldn’t know.”

Summary
Eliot’s pain was a hollow thing. For weeks during his recovery he’d been too numb to feel it, the emptiness growing inside, but once he finally could he’d spent a not insignificant amount of time wondering if the Monster had taken his shade. It made sense, sort of, aside from all those times that he couldn’t stop crying. It was like someone had come along and scraped out all the goodness he’d had left. There was nothing now. Just a deep, pulsing blackness where once there had been so much light.
aka the one where Eliot is so desperate to bring Quentin back he's willing to do almost anything, even if that means losing himself in the process. Canon divergent after 4x13.
