Gamerboy80 and Chazm play on the DreamSMP server like it’s another sweaty game of Bedwars.Yo, could someone let the real GB80 know I wrote this? I'm not kidding, it might be the only GB80-centric fic on this site and I'm quite proud about it. It's at least passably funny.

The Universe had only been chugging along for about a year before the supposed Antichrist decided to make his appearance. He never understood the fear, the paranoia. He had glowing white eyes, too. He could open chunks down past bedrock, he could do unnatural things like summon fire to his fists and disappear and reappear, but he was not evil.
The world disagreed.

Summary
Dream went to 404 to fight a god. This he knew. There were also some vague plans to kill it if he saw the opportunity to, but that quickly went out the window the moment he met George. But when a stranger falls out of the sky and Dream runs them through with his sword, he doesn’t expect to hear his best friend cry out in pain.
In which George is a code deity and Dream is a speedrunner looking for a challenge.

Bored of speedrunning, Dream hears rumors of a powerful code entity inhabiting a forgotten world.
He decides to fight it.
A sorta prequel story telling how Dream and George met, all in the context of Minecraft game mechanics, of course. Inspired by their player-controlled mobs/environment videos.

Summary
Dream would go so far as to say godhood is boring, nowadays. He’s not allowed to mess with mortals, or play with them or kill them without purpose, anymore. Now there’s all these rules and all these expectations and gods are treated like they’re not more than mere celebrities.
But then he strikes a deal with a half-god, half-prince that is just as bored with the monotony of tabloids and stupid drama as he is, and he decides to meddle. Even if the other gods will be angry, even if he knows the rules say not to mess with human politics anymore. One last champion for him to back up. One last king for him to make, for old times sake.
So what if, to manage a political coup, they have to pretend to be in love?
This is definitely 100% only about bringing back old traditions and rebelling, and not at all to do with the fact that George is unbelievably pretty, and charming, and smart, of course.
or, a dystopian au where Dream is a war god, George is a demigod prince and they, in their pursuit for power- still manage to fall in love.

George’s best friend was hiding something. He saw it in the way Dream seemed to keep him at a distance, in the way Dream seemed to flinch away whenever he got too close. And George wanted to get too close. He didn’t quite understand it, how something too powerful to resist seemed to be pulling him towards Dream. And with a tyrant on the loose, the biggest event of the year to plan, and a sudden streak of odd behavior from Dream, George had hoped beyond anything else that it would all end well.
He was wrong, of course.
And really, he should have known better.
After all, every time he had ever taken Dream’s hand, it had led to some kind of wonderful, incredible, disaster. -
