Summary
Jaina was old, ancient by the reckoning of some. Her face was gently lined, her hair all but faded from gold to grey, her body was still strong but the cold of the northern seas set an ache in her bones atimes. She could remember a time before man had mastered the shaping of iron and learned the aes sidhe were weak to its presence and touch. She could remember a time before men had learned to desecrate sacred barrows and seal sacred caves to prevent wandering aes sidhe from returning to Tir na nog. She remembered a time when the aes sidhe had been free.

As her eyes drifted shut she could almost swear she saw something… something that might have been real or might have been a dream-steely blue eyes dancing behind a shimmering golden glow, as fierce as a storm and as tender as a gentle wake.

Summary
Jaina has only one wish for Winter Veil, to take the helm of her own life and chart her own course, following her own guiding stars. That wish has earner her the derision of her brothers and has her parents all but at each other's throats. Daelin is determined that she will marry the irresponsible son of his long-time friend and ally, Terenas Menethil.
Following the end of the Second War, Silvermoon seeks to bring the members of the Alliance together for a period of remembrance of the dead and celebration of the living. The noble families of the Alliance are cordially invited to enjoy the hospitality of all Quel'Thalas has to offer. The Proudmoore's are honored to receive an invitation from the prestigious and venerated Windrunner family, to be hosted by Ranger-General Lireesa and her daughter Sylvanas, decorated hero of the Second War. Katherine Proudmoore thought to beseech the Windrunner matriarch to consider a match between Jaina and Lirath-respectable enough that even Daelin would have to consider it-until the wild and fierce second daughter of the Windrunner clan enters her sights.

“Dearest Nightingale,
It was good of you to send word to your beloved. We wouldn’t have known where to find her otherwise. I have included a few tokens to show you just how much she enjoyed our hospitality.
Your Servant,

Summary
Imogen looks up at Laudna's face and her heart sinks a little. Instead of the playful smile Laudna usually wore, her expression was morose and her eyes were dull. Ironically, Laudna was one of the most vivacious people Imogen had ever met. Her face and hands were usually so expressive, but now she was abnormally still and vacant. In just the space of a few seconds, Laudna looked like she had checked out.
"Hey," Imogen asks softly, placing a hand on Laudna's bicep, "what's wrong?"
Laudna blinks a couple times, glances from Imogen's hand to her face, and sighs. "I'm sorry, darling. I'm just not all," she gestures at her own body, "here."
"Gotcha." Imogen slowly nods. Tentatively, she steps closer to Laudna, looping one arm around Laudna's waist and pulling their bodies together. She lifts her other hand from Laudna's bicep and reaches up to cup Laudna's jaw. Laudna leans into Imogen's touch, her own hands finding their way to Imogen's hips. "Do you want a little help coming back?" Imogen asks.

Summary
“We’re indecent!” she had called to who were certainly employees of The Weary Way checking up on the commotion. It was the first thing that popped into her head, and it seemed to make something click for Imogen who grabbed Dorian — why would she grab Dorian? What made him so special? Why didn’t she grab her? — and opened her vest. Laudna could only stare back in shock before Imogen gave her a loaded look, her words projecting straight into her mind as she deepend the cut of her neckline:
Get them out of here.
She could hear the conversation from the bedroom area as she helped the others down, feeling the bubbling of something deep inside her body. The slow beat of her heart felt immeasurably heavy as she listened to the suggestive comments being thrown between Dorian and Imogen, and she felt a white hot stab of jealousy (jealousy, gods, it feels so immature, but that has to be the feeling) when she turned back and saw Dorian’s hand resting on the small of Imogen’s back as she waved the guards off with a sultry “toodle-oo.”

Summary
Laudna’s always told her she was beautiful. Even before their companionship turned into something more — gentle touches, dark nails raking across pale skin, sharp bites and a wet mouth against her pulsepoint — she’d always been complimentary. She’s never quite figured out if it’s just her nature, the constant praise and respect, or if Imogen’s… different. Special.
Of course you’re special, Imogen, she can almost hear Laudna saying. It makes her smile as she looks back at the mirror, her fingers nervously fidgeting with the knot of the silk robe she’d put on over her surprise. Her heart is beating out of her chest, heat crawling up her neck and burning at the tips of her ears as she shifts from foot to foot, hemming and hawing as she looks at the perfectly conservative pair of pajamas folded on the bedspread and then slips a hand under the robe to feather over the lace edge of her first purchase with Lord Eshteross’ money.

Summary
It’s easier to avoid looking at her like this when they're outside of the city. But in Jrusar, the remnants of the day’s long-spent noise cling to Imogen in ways that rile them both. Even if Laudna couldn’t scent it—even her bones weren’t crying out for it—she’d know it by Imogen’s pinched-shut eyes, her tight grimace, her creased brow.
