Toni returns to playing with the girl's hair as she lays on her lap. Her eyes are getting heavier with every stroke. Just when Toni thinks she’s about to pass out she hears a quiet, “Toni?”
She leans closer to the sleepy girl, “Yeah Shelbs?”
Shelby places her hand lightly on Toni’s cheek. The smell of vodka hits her from the girl’s breath. Her heart is racing in anticipation.
“I think I’m in love with you,” she whispers.
