Steve could tell Eddie was trying to comfort him, which in turn made him momentarily more uncomfortable. Steve did not need comforting. But why did it feel so right coming from Eddie? He decided not to dwell on in right now, and gave in to the hold being offered to him.
“Fuck.” Steve says again, this time meekly, frustration fading into hopelessness, as he regains the ability to breathe. Eddie, now sitting cross legged facing him, pushes his hair from his cold-sweat covered forehead,
“There now, you’re alright. You’re so strong, Steve, there really is no one like you, you demon-slaying fuck.” Steve looks up at him through strands of sweaty hair and smirks half-heartedly, and they sit there in silence for a few minutes, mumbling unimportant thoughts, distracting themselves, knocking knees.

Eddie Munson doesn't mind working at the Family Video Store. It's a nice sense of normalcy (not to mention money) and he gets to see Robin more because of it. However, between working together and sharing the same best friend, he's also been seeing a lot more of Steve Harrington.
He wants nothing more than to enjoy mindless fun with his friends now that everything with Vecna is over, but Eddie's finding it hard to move on from what happened. Even if the strangest thing in his life right now was simply the fact he and Steve Harrington might actually be friends.
