Geralt looks puzzled by the question. “I’ve never thought about it.”
Jaskier passes him the vodka. “Come on. You have to have some secret dream. Horse trainer? Pirate? King of Kaedwen?”
“Not worth thinking about, since it won’t happen.” Geralt shakes his head. “What about you? What would you do if you weren’t a viscount? Be a bard?”
“Of course. And you, my very best friend in the world, would be my muse.”
Geralt scoffs. “I’d be a shit muse.”
Geralt and Jaskier are seven years old when they meet, Geralt a terrified child surprise on his way to Kaer Morhen and Jaskier the lonely bastard son of the Earl de Lettenhove. Over the next fifteen years, they become friends, fall in love, break each other’s hearts, and find their way back to each other.

They get stuck in a village on the outskirts of Yspaden due to a storm.
Jaskier thinks it’s the perfect excuse to stay in bed the whole day, regardless of the fact that Geralt insists they brave the weather outside if they want to reach Kaer Morhen before the trail becomes impassable.
It’s not even dawn yet, the harsh winds rattling the closed windows as rain continues to pour relentlessly. The sounds of thunder rumbling and lightning crackling in the distance breaks the quiet intermittently.

Summary
Despite Jaskier's hard work, there are still plenty of people who hate witchers. They think they're monstrous, inhuman, only held back from violence by a thin veneer of control. One mage has a plan to spread his views by capturing a witcher and bewitching them to remove their control. When the Butcher of Blaviken walks into his hideout, he's convinced he's found the perfect candidate - and a convenient way to get rid of the pesky bard that's been singing his praises.
Jaskier is forced to agree witchers are not human, but that doesn't mean they're dangerous. In fact, he's astounded by how many of Geralt's uncontrolled impulses involve touching.
