Aziraphale and Crowley re-learn how to act around each other after the Apocalypse That Wasn't, grow closer in the process, and Crowley realises that after a lifetime of rejections he finally found a place he can call home.
As he watches Aziraphale, clad in a pair of linen trousers, matching waistcoat and a pale shirt with its sleeves rolled up, kneeling on the blanket as he cuts up the cake, Crowley thinks he will never get used to it. He spent a long time sleeping, but he never had dreams; maybe this is it.

"Holy hell, angel!" he shrieked and rubbed his head.
"There, there, my dear. I must say, this rendition is not the best," gloated Aziraphale, and then the mask fell. Half naked Crowley was sitting in front of him, vulnerable as the first daffodils, and just as tender. The demon snapped his fingers and the music stopped.
"I'm indecent, Aziraphale. What do you want?"
"You haven't showed up for two weeks!"
"Is it too long or too short a period of time?" inquired Crowley.
"It's an unacceptable period of time, my dear. You can't just disappear like that. I was worried."
"Well, sorry, angel, I can take a hint. You didn't seem to have wanted me at your place."
"You implied that you didn't want to see me. That I upset you. I've known you long enough, angel, I know when you don't want to see me."
"I… I don't want to see you? Are you an idiot, Crowley?"
"No, you are the idiot in this friendship, angel," answered Crowley.
