Summary
Lance is a YouTuber with a large following. In his search for new music to use for his videos, he comes across a small channel of a freelance singer songwriter, Keith Kogane. Lance offers to promote his music and hopes they can be (more than) friends.
What he doesn’t know, however, is that Keith has been a huge fan of Lance’s videos for years and is losing his shit on the other side of the screen.

Keith picked up the book as if to throw it across the room, but he stopped himself last second and held it to his chest instead. He hugged it close until his breathing evened out and his eyes stopped stinging. He opened it back up then, flipping to the back cover where another messy inscription awaited him.
“To my dearest son, Keith. Thank-you for always cheering me on when I leave and welcoming me back with open arms when I come home. I can only hope that someday you’ll have adventures of your own to bring back to the castle and tell me about. I love you.”
In that moment, reading the message for what had to be the thousandth time, Keith felt something inside of himself shift. A decision he’d been on the verge of making for years and suddenly it all seemed so clear, like there’d only really been one option all this time. He thought of high seas and trees taller than he could see, a world begging to be explored, and he knew.

Summary
Based very loosely off of @eyugho's lovebug AU, which I love more than anything?? Thanks to them for starting this wonderful AU!
Keith's bitten by a lovebug, but this one doesn't make him all cuddly. Instead, every moment he spends away from Lance is physically painful for him. That's frustrating enough already without Keith having to hide his massive crush.
Lance just wants to help, but he knows that Keith doesn't like to be touched. Also hiding a massive crush, because these two are horrible at communication.
This is a story about letting people in, and learning to let yourself be loved. Keith needs a lot of that.
