Summary
Fjord races ahead and Kima shares a smile with Allura, grabbing her hand. When they walk into the room Fjord is holding two lumpy packages in front of his face. He pops his head out the side and points to the loveseat in the corner, almost dropping the presents in the process, “I want you to open mine first!” At his urging they sit with a laugh and Fjord proudly holds out the poorly wrapped gifts.

Summary
Not everyone finds their soulmate. It is estimated that under 10% of the entire population of the world will meet their soulmate. But, of course, suddenly growing bird wings does come with its disadvantages.
But probably what most soulmates would complain about the most, was moulting. It’s a once a year process where the wings' feathers will fall out and then grow back bigger and stronger. It is incredibly uncomfortable and can even be painful if not dealt with properly. Needless to say, Molting can be a painful and bloody process if not taken care of properly.
However, it is why the gods gave both pairs of soulmates wings, so they don't have to do it alone.

Summary
Tonight Fjord curls up on his big soft bed, otter clutched close to his chest, and his familiar small green blanket tucked in close. Had this been any of his previous nights in this room he would have been long asleep. But tonight, instead of feeling safe and comfortable, it felt wrong – like the room no longer fit him. Like he didn’t belong.

Shortly after Allura and Kima take him in Fjord finds himself unable to sleep.

Summary
With the varying lifespans of the races across Exandria it is fairly common for one to be born with a voice already in their head, or for one to wait many years before hearing the voice of their soulmate.
Much is not known of the connection between soulmates, but most grow up with a voice that is not their own. Some people never meet and instead always have the comfort of their soulmate in their head. A rare few never hear the voice of their soulmate, them having died before the connection is made.~
