Summary
In the year following Eleanor's arrest Kate has to find her own way through the world. It's hard and scary, but at the end of that first year, she transforms from Kate Bishop into something totally different... Hawkeye. Along the way she runs into old enemies, new allies, and a hot Russian assassin.
Yelena is not Aro/Ace here, but possibly could be read as demisexual. Kate is just an oblivious pansexual intimidated by Yelena Belova. Since this is mostly a character study/year-in-the-life Yelena + Kate coming together takes quite awhile (AKA this is a pretty slow burn).

She wants nothing more to live a normal life. Which she successfully accomplishes, for the last 2 years, she has been enrolled in college, attending frat parties and archery competitions. It’s the most incredibly boring normal life that any rich archery-obsessed girl could ask for. Until it comes to end, as all things do. After getting kidnapped and held for ransom, her mother decides that she needs to hire a bodyguard to protect her. Not that Kate needs it.

The one where Yelena wants a vacation but ends up being hired to protect a rich party girl who throws her through more than one loop and has her questioning everything.

“I really don’t think this is necessary,” Kate states as she sinks a little further into the rickety old hospital chair she’s sitting on. As instructed by the paramedics who drove her and Clint here, she hasn’t moved from it since, though it’s not for lack of trying. “I mean yeah, okay, breathing is a little uncomfortable, but I’ll have you know that I once fell out of a tree several times in a row, and it felt exactly like this, and I was fine. Without having to sit in a waiting room for hours on end while my face and body bleed out of a million tiny cuts.”
When Clint doesn’t react, Kate turns her face towards him and squints at his ear.
She slaps his shoulder, and he rights himself and taps his hearing aid.
