He needs a plan to survive his doomed fate, and time is running out. Will he go with Plan A, live as quietly as possible without being noticed by the infamous Emperor? Plan B, collect enough money to escape the palace? Or will he be stuck with plan C, sweet-talking his way into his father's good graces?!

“You had one job.”
Peter lifted his shoulders into what he hoped was an apologetic shrug, but it was hard, especially with the smile that kept trying to creep back on his face—but Tony didn’t look altogether amused.
“One. Job,” Tony said, pressing his forehead against his palm. “Do you want to tell me what you didn’t do?”
Peter looked around the kitchen. Or, more specifically, what could have and should have been a kitchen but now looked more like a restrained explosion of flour, egg yolks, egg shells, squished berries, and butter. And the best part of it all was Morgan, swinging her legs off the kitchen counter and calmly snacking on blueberries from a paper cup. She extended the cup to Tony and Peter. “Want one?” she asked.
[or, Peter Parker is a terrible baby-sitter. Fulfills prompt #999 for Irondad 1000 Feelings, 'the glee of having completely screwed up a task you resented'.]

"He doesn’t realize he’s crying until a tear falls on the glass. He rubs it off with his sleeve. The Peter in the picture is so happy. Was so excited to be receiving the internship title, so that he could officially put on his college applications what he was already doing anyway: building things in the lab with Tony Stark. They saw each other almost weekly, by the end.
'I can’t do this', Tony thinks, gazing at the young face. He can’t recall the good memories without immediately remembering what that face looked like as he panicked on Titan, and then the resignation that crossed his features as he died.
He has to put the picture back face down."
A look into those five years Tony spent without the boy who he had come to view as a son. Complete with an alternate ending for Avengers: Endgame.

His shaky hand balled into a fist, hesitating at the door. He had practiced this a few times. What he would say. What he would do. But his brain was short-circuiting. All he could think about was seeing Tony’s face again. Healthy, awake, alive. A cooling wind swept through the patio. Peter could feel it against his face and a chill slipped past the suit and down his spine. He took in a sharp breath.
Then, he knocked.
or Peter gets a chance to go back in time to give Tony a final goodbye

Peter freezes for a second, eyes flicking to focus on Steve for one still moment. Then, his gaze drags sideways to Tony, and his eyes clear of confusion.
"Dad!" he breathes.
The room goes silent.
Tony Stark doesn't like to think of himself as any kind of father figure. In fact, after Peter Parker died in his arms on Titan, he's been distancing himself from the kid.
That all changes, though, after an encounter with a rogue sorcerer that leaves Peter unconscious and unaware. When he wakes up, he gets the date and the year wrong - oh, and he calls Tony Dad. Soon, it becomes clear that something is seriously wrong with the kid. He's talking about people who don't exist, events that haven't happened, and using information he shouldn't know.
Tony is far from ready to deal with any of it.
(Post Civil War, and compliant with the MCU save for the Avengers being based in Stark Tower still. Infinity War and Endgame happened, but this story is officially canon-divergent from them. Mainly Irondad and Spiderson. Fic title from Dream by Imagine Dragons.)
