and as tempting as it is for seb to just capitalize on mark’s temper and moodiness after a bad race, to wait for an easy gap to slip through and get exactly what he wants… he’s after the championship, not a single race, as it were. he needs a benchmark of what mark is up for, wants to collect his own data to come back to later and compare to a future performance, needs to be sure he’s extracted everything he can from the situation.
this particular weekend seems like as close to baseline as they’ll get - mark’s self-satisfied with his performance, but still missing a win over sebastian. aching for that final piece.
and seb? seb thinks that’s just poignant.
(there’s also the fact that it’d been ages since he’d last been really handled - good and proper fucked. that’s definitely a factor.)

he’s had plenty of good sex with plenty of good (and average) drivers over the years and knows how to compartmentalize it … but.
but.
it’s mark. seb tries to stop himself from thinking about how mark is different, but his thoughts are already barrelling in that direction. not only is mark attractive, with a jaw carved from stone and hands that seb knows would leave the most delicious red marks all over him - mark’s also confident, experienced, cocky, and no bullshit. it’s like he wrote the book on seb’s type. it’s incredibly, frustratingly hot - and right now it’s a monumental inconvenience.
