“Hiya. Never seen you around, are you new in town?“
Totally smooth and cool as a cucumber, not at all like a deer caught in headlight because he just got freaking hit on, Robert looks up, pulling his trademark smirk… and then the air gets knocked out of his lungs at the sight of the man who approached him.
Tall, but a bit smaller than Robert, dark fluffy curls, a 3-day-scruff and in between two remarkably baby blue eyes. He‘s absolutely gorgeous, especially when his lips form that tiny-barely-there smile, bashful almost.
But Robert is just being hit on by a man, not only in public, no, in a gay pub, just like that, so he opens his mouth and says: “This is your pick up line? Really?“ Count on his non-existent brain-to-mouth-filter when he‘s out of his depth.

Summary
Aaron hasn’t spoken one single word since they got out of the building and into the car. Now, about 20 minutes later, they’re almost back in Emmerdale and Robert keeps glancing over to his boyfriend in the passenger seat. Just checking.
There isn’t much to see unfortunately, because Aaron has turned his head towards the window, avoiding Robert’s eye at all costs, so he shifts his gaze down instead on Aaron’s hands and sees him clenching them so hard the knuckles already turned white. The thumbnail is pressing into the flesh. Robert knows the nails are too short for it to hurt - Aaron started biting them again with today’s appointment approaching - but he reaches over anyway, puts his hand gently on Aaron’s and nudges the thumb with his own.
A second later Aaron’s fingers relax ever so slightly, but he still keeps silently staring outside.
It hurts seeing him like this.
It hurts being helpless.
Even Robert Jacob Sugden runs out of words occasionally. Especially in moments like this.———

Stiles slurps at the dregs of his iced hazelnut latté, pretending he doesn’t need a refill just yet. Supporting your local business is great and all, but Isaac charging $5 for a coffee with syrup is highway robbery. He’s already cut his expenses down to the bare minimum, and splurging for foofy drinks is not in the budget. Except that he can’t really help himself: black coffee is plain gross. Maybe I should plan on marrying rich, he thinks darkly.
Or,
Stiles has a huge crush on the super-hot guy he always sees at Isaac's coffee shop, but when he finds out that they guy's an unemployed orphan he has to decide if the difference in their financial situations is a deal-breaker, or just a bump on the path to true love.

Summary
There’s a boy exiting the doors as they approach. Where Derek is tan from hours outside, the boy is pale except for a few beauty marks on one cheek. He’s dressed in fine riding clothes, and flanked by a guard wearing the sign of the royal house. A noble, then. He’s younger than Derek, but, considering his higher station, a bow would be appropriate. Despite that, Derek can’t help looking curiously at the boy, who’s looking back at Derek with just as much interest. For a moment, their eyes meet - the boy’s are a deep amber in the sunlit courtyard, ringed by long, tawny lashes.
A gloved hand smacks the back of Derek’s head and he instinctively flinches away, hunching his shoulders. He loses track of the other boy as they pass one another, and as he turns to get another look, the knight grabs his shoulder and marches him forward into the stable.
“Keep your eyes to yourself,” the knight instructs. “And next time, show the proper respect to Crown Prince Stiles.”

Summary
He realises his mistake when the Sheriff looks between them both, head going back and forth between Stiles’ hand on Derek’s jacket and Derek’s face.
Derek can see his boss take in his hopeless smile and he quickly tries to arrange his face into a scowl but by the look on John’s face he’s no where near convincing.
You and him? John mouths at him, eyes narrowed.
Derek shakes his head, eyes wide and panicked.
“What?” Stiles asks them when he looks up from his phone, unaware of the silent communication between Derek and the Sheriff. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing Son. Derek, make sure nothing happens to him,” John says pointedly. “Derek... I approve. Of you going to the preserve first, I mean. It’s nice. That the preserve makes you so happy.”
The Sheriff gives him a thumbs up when Stiles looks down at his phone again.
Derek wants to punch himself in the face.
“Of course Sir. I... I really like the preserve. I want to keep it safe,” Derek bodily hustles Stiles toward the doorway, ears burning.
“When did you both become so environmentally conscious?” Stiles frowns suspiciously.

Derek shrugged, his arms crossed over his chest, and watched as Stiles reached out for the page, tugging the end lightly until Kira let it go so he could give it a read.
