Miranda studied the tie closest to Nigel’s wrist, a patternless option in tangerine. She picked it up and beckoned Andrea over with a bend of one finger. Once close enough, she draped the tie over her assistant's left shoulder to compare it against the large apricot-toned hibiscus on the print of her blouse. It was exactly the color she was looking for, and as Miranda smoothed the fabric with her hand, she could feel Andrea’s heart thundering beneath her palm. A pink blush crept up her chest and neck, and as it made its way to her cheeks, Miranda silently admired how lovely the hue was there.

Summary
At first, she thought it was just a new appearance of her teenage migraines. After a year she thought everything would pass on her vacation. A year and a half later, she decided she was scared enough of her own head to consider seeing a neurologist.
Until the day when the walls of her favorite bar grew darker against her pale fingers, the crowd suddenly fell silent and her head shattered on the floor with a violent crash and all she could see was Nigel's wrinkled forehead bending over.
Before she slowly woke up on the cold, indifferent sheets of the crazily white room around her, with a pair of eyes hard trained on her and the same La Priestly countenance she'd abandoned in Paris.
