    Summary

I am in the Baker Street tube station of the London Underground in England, on the isle of Great Britain, in the United Kingdom, in the Western Hemisphere of the planet officially called Earth. (Yes, I looked it up. It’s officially Earth, not Terra or Gaea.) I suppose the residents of any hypothetical planet refer to their home by whatever word their language has for earth, ground, dirt. And our moon’s name is not Luna, but Moon, our star is simply Sun, not Sol. And our galaxy is not officially the Milky Way, though teachers always taught us that. It’s just Galaxy. Thus sayeth the International Astronomical Union. (Why do I remember this? I thought I’d binned Astronomy…)

The point is, there is ground under my feet. I am not dreaming, not high, not injured.

And yet, I do not know what has happened to me, or what I should do. The fact that I am able to think about this tells me that I am real, that this is real. Cogito, ergo sum.

Or: Sherlock finds himself in a parallel world where he is supposedly dead.

    Summary

Fin de Siècle: the end of a century, especially the 19th century; the closing of one era and onset of another.

A Victorian AU. Each part can be read on its own, but there is an overall arc to the stories that will make more sense if read in order. Only one part of this is somewhat explicit.

    Summary

Many serial killers are capable of leading outwardly normal lives hiding in plain sight as husbands, wives, scout leaders, doctors, policemen, soldiers and employers.

What if Sherlock is one of them? And what if John discovers his secret?

    Bookmarker's Notes

One of the most tender, wistful, dream-like story I've ever read. (Story plural, actually, as there's three of them in the series). At first I wasn't aware I was getting my heart broken until I felt tears on my cheeks. CR is just an AMAZING writer, with some of the best skills I've read on here and her story lines are always original. She writes stuff I don't see often.

    Summary

“How did you come to be in this place?”

I have no idea what possessed me. Perhaps the sheer exhaustion of transport had weakened my filter. Or maybe it was simply that as I looked at the young doctor sitting opposite me, his face calm and professional, but bored (Shares a flat with a mate, who is seducing his girlfriend. Down on his luck. Evidence: clothing and shoes are good quality, but worn. Had to pawn his bag, but could have gotten more for the watch. Sentimental…) I had a sudden whim to give him an interesting story.

I decided that Dr John Watson would at least have something to tell his flatmate tonight when he arrived back at his shabby little flat. Or maybe his girlfriend, if she hadn’t left him yet.

And the truth was even more interesting than anything I could make up.

My number one favorite Calais_Reno story. She does old-fashioned Watson and Holmes so perfectly. It's like a blend of BBC and ACD. Her story lines are always original. The angst is subtle and slides between your ribs and into your heart. You don't realize you're hurt until you start crying.

This one isn't that angsty, though, except for the bit where he reads the letters. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go read it.
