All that mattered was the man standing next to her was staring at her like he would jump off a cliff with her if only she asked. Even if she didn’t ask. All that mattered was the way this undeniably new development made her ache in a way she had almost entirely forgotten, forsaken in fear. Amid the loop of destruction and death, their very existence on the line, Daisy ironically felt safe in this moment. Safer than she had felt in years. And that’s when she knew. “No,” Daisy said heatedly, stepping towards two men she respected greatly. “My company was attacked. I was attacked. I don’t care who wants me dead. I’m not going to hide in some underground bunker like a scared little bitch.”
“Fine,” Fury agreed, leaving Coulson and Daisy stunned. “But Coulson is going to hand pick trusted agents to follow you twenty-four-seven. This is my only offer.”
“I can handle myself,” Daisy said smiling cockily, “Agent May trained me and I live with another field agent. If you send me more than one agent at a time, I will lose their tail. Every. Time.”
Fury smiled at her and nodded. “One body guard, it is.”

This wasn’t how she imagined coming back home to earth. But here they were.
Stealing herself for any possibility, she walked into the lab to find Jemma speaking with two chronicoms she was vaguely familiar with, but didn’t know on a first name basis.
“Daisy,” Jemma said, clearly startled to see her so soon.
“I didn’t - I couldn’t wait,” she explained quietly as she barely stepped into the room. Suddenly she couldn’t bare to look at the healing pod, too scared of what she might see.
Jemma nodded to the doctors before stepping around them. “Daisy, perhaps you should sit down,” she said slowly.
“What?” She felt as if someone had just punched her in the gut. “No. You -”
Jemma shook her head quickly and clarified, “Daniel should recover just fine.” -

The door opened and they all turned. As Jemma was about to yell, assuming it would be Daniel or Fitz, she stopped herself when Kora stepped into the room. “Hey,” Daisy said, smiling wide. “How’s Danny boy?”
Kora smirked, “He’s steady as always. How are you?”
Her mouth hung open as words were lost in her throat.
“Nerves?” Jemma asked, smiling sympathetically.
Sighing, Daisy nodded in slight annoyance with herself. “Is it normal to feel like I’m going to barf? I’ve - I’m not great at commitment.” When they all chuckled or coughed at her declaration, she groaned, ready to flip them off. “Every time something good comes along it never lasts,” Daisy finally whispered.
Elena and Jemma shared a look while Kora walked towards her, holding an envelope in her hand.
“I love him. I want this,” Daisy clarified quickly. “I just -“
Kora had the most shit eating cocky grin Daisy had ever seen on her face as she placed her hand out towards Daisy, a small folded piece of paper in her hand. A letter. “Soon-to-be Dork Johnson thought you might feel that way.” -
