Slight AU. No monsters. Waverly is a ballet teacher.
*She’d watched as her friends and family got married and had kids. It hadn’t bothered her much at first, but as those children grew, visual representations of the passage of time, Waverly’s heart began to sink under the sand of her own hourglass. She didn’t need to get married or even have kids, per se, but Waverly did want love. To be the little spoon on a cold night. To have more than just dance to fill her soul.*

Summary
Episode by episode of seasons 1-2 told from Waverly and Nicole’s perspective and primarily focused on the building of their relationship. Also includes content that I felt was either relevant to their growth as individuals or integral to the flow of the story.
I started writing this because I felt that the amount of interaction on screen between Waverly and Nicole in season one was seriously lacking. I wanted to fill in the gaps and really build that intensity between them that is so apparent in 1x09. I had only intended to write episodes 1x02-1x09, but once I got started, I just couldn’t stop.
It’s basically two seasons worth of my headcanon combined with actual scenes/direct dialogue from the show. I tried to keep the details as accurate as possible. In theory, you could watch it, pause to read the new scenes, and then pick it back up with everything lining up as it should.

Summary
Wynonna and Nicole try to figure out how to get Waverly home while navigating their own grief and the pitfalls along the way. As things start to feel hopeless, they find out how much they'll fray at the edges before falling completely apart.
Pressing her hand to the barrier again, she felt like electricity was flowing down her arm and constricting her heart, making it beat faster in her chest.
“I’m coming for ya, baby girl,” Wynonna whispered, arm vibrating with the energy of the barrier. She looked back at Nicole who just watched her with an unreadable expression. Wynonna turned back to the barrier, tears at the corners of her eyes. “We’re coming for ya.”

He's not so much of a problem if he's six feet under though.

Summary
It's WW2 and the Blitz is reaching its peak; ARP Warden Nicole Haught accompanies a casualty, not for the first time, to hospital after rescuing them from the wreckage of their home. There she bumps into nurse, Waverly Earp and there's something about her that she just can't shake. Their paths keep crossing as they find more and more mutual connections but there's something about this connection with Waverly that brings up unpleasant memories from Nicole's past that might just be the thing that stops her from taking the plunge.
