He was headed from the large tree in the plains outside Mondstadt and crossing the bridge into the city for his sweet Dandelion wine when he decidedly turned, heading for the wisp of wind that only cried harder. He could always get his unhealthy daily dose of wine another day.
What was it— or who was it that cried out? Venti thought. Maybe it was a hole in a crumbled temple somewhere in the outskirts that wind passed through perfectly at the same time every day. No, no way. Maybe it was truly someone crying and being one with the wind and all, Venti seemed to be the only one to have heard it.

Tartaglia manages an awkward chuckle. “Uh, I can explain?"
But Xiao already had his Jade Spear in hand, launching off the kitchen table and plunging down. He hears the high pitched screech of Tartaglia below and the bright laughter of Venti behind him, but he’s too angry to really care.
No one messes with his almond tofu.
(AKA the Dad!Zhongli with AnnoyingStepdad!Childe and RebelTeen!Xiao fic I’ve been dreaming of reading. Since I didn’t really find one yet, I guess I’ll do it myself.)
