Summary
James wakes up after the island and he's laying in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar hospital room, with unfamiliar surroundings.
When he turns, he sees Q’s head folded on the side of his bed, tucked into his arms with his glasses perched on the top of his messy curls. His hand is clutching James’s, tight in its grip even through slumber.
He’s wearing a wedding ring. James looks down and feels shock numb his veins when he sees that he’s wearing a gold band to match Q’s silver one.

Q rescued James from Safin's island, but not before Safin infected James with the Heracles nanobots. Unable to see Madeleine and Mathilde for fear of causing their deaths, and out of his depth in a world of espionage and technology that he's been disconnected from for five years, James flounders.
