After a kidnapping attempt in his childhood, Izuku is forced to hide his healing quirk and pretend to be quirkless. He makes do with biology textbooks and nightly escapades to practice his quirk until one night, he comes across a man without a face.The thought of slipping back into his daily, supervised cycle in the morning made Izuku feel very tired. U.A.’s entrance exam was a year away and his mom hadn’t talked about getting his quirk registered, much less letting him practice it.
The family photo in his pocket felt heavier. He didn’t particularly care for his father, but sometimes he wondered if things would have been different if the man had stayed.
