"I have to get down there, to see what's what." Bilbo said calmly, even if she didn't feel that way.
"No, you can't." Thorin was implacable, "there is a dragon down there!"
"Ye-es," Bilbo said slowly. "This we knew from the start. And we knew from the start that I would go and face him first. This was the plan. I'm only sticking to it."
"Forget the plan. It is a stupid plan." He sounded almost desperate. "I'll think up a new plan!"
Oh dear.
Sometimes things didn't go according to plan, and to Bilbo, this whole quest was one very big example of just that. Now they were stranded somewhere in the wilderness, trying to survive while making new plans. If that wasn't a recipe for disaster, Bilbo didn't know what was.

It is Bilba who wakes up injured after the Battle. Injured and thinking she has spoiled any chance at happiness with one King under the Mountain. Of course, Thorin doesn't hesitate to clear up the matter.

Summary
The idea behind signing up for the Vault program was to be prepared for the end of the world. Quite frankly, Nora expected to live out her life and die in that Vault of old age. Going to sleep and waking up to find her husband dead and her son missing was the exact opposite of everything she thought would happen after the bomb. Now Nora must return to the world she and the other Vault Dwellers abandoned in the hope of being reunited with her kidnapped son, and be thrust into the middle of post-War history as the War for the Commonwealth simmers and boils to an explosive finish.
Is the kidnapping the whole story, or is this just the beginning of something far more sinister?

There are some major canon-divergences as the story goes on. One companion outright dies. Everyone's more concerned about the fact that Nora has a missing child than in the game. I try and remain canon-friendly where I can, but I'm taking liberties with personalities where it doesn't conflict with the original lore. TRIGGER WARNING: Nora's mental health gets a bit questionable. Then again, wouldn't anyone's?Story is COMPLETE: You may notice some changes while I clean up typos though.

Arthur always assumed Sarah Lyons would be his one day. The conclusion made sense in his adolescent mind. Though it had been years since her passing, she was still a hallowed image within his thoughts. He'd thought of one woman for as long as he could remember and it felt wrong to think of anyone else. At least that had been the case until he met Danse's new charge.
The two women were incomparable and it was baffling to consider the way his body reacted to a relative stranger. He’d spoken to her for little more than ten minutes and she’d already found her way into his most personal, most treasured thoughts. The place where the ghost of Sarah Lyons lingered was invaded by this stranger who was so unlike her that Maxson was near overwhelmed with his newfound infatuation.
TLDR: Being forced to grow up as quickly as he did resulted in Maxson developing weird kinks, he has no idea how to speak to women much less pursue a relationship. He's a big ol virgin and a big ol pervert.

While running out of ways to save her little farm, Stella turns to her very last option. Desperate times call for desperate measures. She'd taken enough trips around the sun enough to know that raiders were territorial jerks. If she got one group pitted against the other, then her farm would be safe from the constant attacks! Some raiders who've been creeping around her property seem a little less horrible than the typical sort and at this point, she's got nothing left to lose.
Problem is, she's not exactly sure what the hell she could barter with considering that all she has is a ruined, ransacked farm and her last shred of hope clinging to her like gum on the bottom of her shoe.
TLDR: A very angry, and at her wit's end bossy farmer gal makes a bunch of demands to a raider gang, calling them names while she's at it. They kinda like it. The lot of 'em are good at killing and scavving, not so good with ladies.
