While Kara’s wardrobe remained mostly the same, Cat couldn’t deny that there was a certain maturity in Kara’s current outfit that had been lacking previously. The colors were slightly darker, though no less cheerful. The twisted bun her hair was in was tight, but not severe, very different from the high school style ponytail Cat was used to seeing her in. Even her stance was different now that she had stopped leaning against the wall. She stood firm and proud, channeling just enough of that Supergirl confidence to appear in control and at ease.
Kara Danvers was all grown up.

Pearl jumped slightly, her landing awkwardly on a sheet of paper. Her foot slid from under her and she lost her balance, showcasing none of her usual dancer’s grace. She closed her eyes, the world falling silent as she braced herself for the impact against the dirty linoleum floor and the laughter that would follow. Instead she felt warm, muscular arms secure around her waist. She opened her eyes, greeted by her own reflection in a pair of reflective sunglasses. “Uh…”

Cat Grant was not a woman in the habit of lying to herself. She could admit that she was there to drool over Kara in a bathing suit like some sort of hormonal teenage boy. She needed new material for her fantasies. As much as she loved the image of Kara in tight dresses and high heels, it was starting to get old. She needed something new and exciting. Something stimulating. Titillating, even. Perhaps something strappy and red. Nothing too risque, of course, it was a public beach. But definitely something daring.

Kya watched as the wind tousled Lin's dark hair, the sensation enough of distraction to make Lin furrow her brow slightly. She tucked her hair behind her ear, hand brushing against and then pausing at the freshly healed wounds on her face. Kya watched as Lin's entire body tensed for a moment before she took a very slow and deliberate breath, forcing herself to relax back into her meditation.
Kya let out a sigh that was less slow, less deliberate, but just as heavy. "She's beautiful."

In the months since their chance meeting on a train in Mumbai, Carmen and Julia had fallen into, well, Julia supposed she could call it a routine. She and the Inspector would follow a lead or tip of some sort (tips that Julia was becoming increasingly suspicious of), Carmen would briefly make herself known to the world, then she would show up at Julia’s door (or in most cases her window) regardless of where she was staying at the time.
