Kala made a sympathetic noise, and squeezed her hand. “That’s alright. But you are the one of the bravest people I know Sun. And Detective Mun, he is a good man. Your heart will be safe with him, if you trust him with it.”
Sun’s lips twisted in a defeated smirk. “I think I already did. A long while back.”
She closed her eyes when she felt Kala press a gently kiss to her temple. “I think so too. And you know what?”
Sun opened her eyes.
Kala beamed. “Detective Mun gave you his heart a long while back too.”

Summary
“Because of how far we have come, Joe,” Nicky leaned back enough to look Joe in his eyes. “When I first saw you, all I heard were the hateful words that had been thrown against me. And then we died and breathed life together. I was so distrustful of you, but also so grateful. I was the invader, you had every reason to hate me, and yet, at every turn you showed me kindness. Falling in love with you, it was as inevitable as the sun setting today and the moon rising. It took me so long to see this truth though, so many years wasted.”
This is a story of a boy who becomes a man who goes to fight a war he truly believed in, died, and realized maybe he had not been told the truth. It is the story of that man learning to find forgiveness for himself, falling in love with his enemy, and accepting it.

When he comes back to life heaving, clutching his stomach, Andromache and Quynh are gone. The grass is no longer grass, feels cold and hard and uncaring against the ache settled deep in his bones. There’s stone sloped towards him, the constellations of Quynh and Andromache’s childhoods crumbling from them. He remembers painting them, their hands messy with pigment, Quynh’s laughter bright in her throat, Andromache’s handprints all over her. Lykon had laughed with them, Quynh’s hands all over him, in red and white stains all across his skin.

So, here she was, 26, immortal and climbing in the window so she didn’t wake up the rest of the family. Christ, she’s having flashbacks.
She pushes the window open, pulls herself up so she’s sitting on the ledge, swivels around, drops the heels she’d been carrying onto the floor with a thunk.And then the bedside light clicks on.
Nile sneaks out (is it sneaking out, no-one's been all that clear on that point - anyway) to blow off some steam, but when it comes to sneaking back in, she picks the wrong window.
