“Whatever happens, happens.” - that has always been your mantra.
The life you chose was pretty decent. You are an Arbyter, a subset of government mediator that maintains equal balance between the Scribes, oversees public disputes, and ultimately one who pledges to fulfill demands so long as they are just or can be compromised upon. It was all for the good of Arcanalite, and this was the life you wanted to keep.
Too bad you didn’t possess the ability to erase your past as a former Challenger - especially when this comes back to bite you in the ass when, for the first time in years, you’re face to face with the last Scribe you happened to best before you quit.
It certainly hasn’t forgotten either.
However, in faithful Scybe fashion, it would like to take advantage of this opportunity and refine it’s strategies - perhaps you would help it attain a certain goal of his - but first things first..
It would have to work on breaking your personal oath of never playing the card game again.
