It fell into place. Leafpool was their mother. Squirrelflight, in her ever-enduring loyalty to her sister, had taken the kits in and raised them as her own.
He recalled Leafpool’s sadness after Ashfur’s death. Perhaps she had been in love with the grey tom after all. This meant that Ashfur was their birth father. Ashfur!
Seeing how he reacted to Squirrelflight choosing Brambleclaw over him... He must have become mates with Leafpool as an act of revenge – ruining the reputation of one who Squirrelflight values so much. He probably didn’t even think of the consequences.He needed to return to camp. Now.
OR: Jayfeather makes the assumption that Ashfur is the Three's father. Shenanigans ensue as Yellowfang tries to tidy up the mess.
