“Alright, so let me get this straight.” Eraserhead decides to take one for the team, since Mic, Emi and Midnight were just so unbelievably useless. “You, the son of the Number One Hero, were training on the beach, with one of the most prolific supervillains in the country acting as your nanny. You decided to save some runaway kid living on said beach, which led to you seeing three heroes, including Thunderbolt, the Number Three Hero, commit a blatant case of heroic brutality if not a downright murder attempt on two children. So you proceeded to intimidate them, and when it didn’t work, you… kidnapped them?”
Izuku looks down, but he honestly feels more shy due to standing in front of the people than in remorse for what he did. Then he nods.
Definitely a problem child.

“A quirk, young Midoriya, is not everything to being a hero. It is power, yes, and a good quirk is an advantage that a few are privileged to.” The boy shrunk again, and again All Might’s gentle chuckle brought him out of that quicksand trap he had been subjected to all his youth. “But what you may not have won from a genetic lottery of natural gifts and innate talent, there are such things that can make up the difference.”
The boy’s eyes snapped up to meet his.
“Training. Dedication. A sense of justice. A gentle heart.”
His hand curled into a mighty fist, and the number one hero tapped the boy’s chest, his middle knuckle gently brushing the spot over the boy’s heart.
“Nobody is born with those. They have to be first learned, then trained and nurtured. They are what makes for a good hero, and as long as you do the same, Midoriya Izuku… I believe you will become a fine hero one day.”
Unable to coach Yuuri himself and knowing Chris is considering retiring, Viktor asks Chris to coach Yuuri for a season. Yuuri’s skeptical about the offer, but as Chris says, he has nothing left to lose now that he’s back in Japan and has ended things with Celestino. The result is Yuuri skating to programs deliberately designed to keep Viktor’s attention. Viktor won’t know what hit him when they finally compete against each other. After all, sometimes Yuuri has no idea what’s going on.
“So what’s it like with Chris as your coach?”
“It’s wonderful,” Yuuri drawled, voice laden with sarcasm. “Instead of saying ‘good morning,’ there’s a good morning grope. When I’m not working on my choreography on ice with his fiancé, I’m training two new quads because we couldn’t come to an agreement on which I should learn. Half of my off-ice training is pole dancing now, in front of people I’ve known since childhood. It’s seriously amazing.”
Makkachin has puppies. Viktor is sleep deprived as a result. A trip to the dog park with the puppies does not go as planned.
“Did you forget how to count or something?”
- Part 5 of WIP Wednesdays
Harry isn't sorted into Gryffindor; he ends up in both Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Along the way he finds allies in his Heads of House, his god-brother, some House-elves and Goblins, and a semi-sentient Hogwarts. It's amazing how things can change when people truly have your back.
