They carve space physically and emotionally for a new “family” member. Despite the joys, dark clouds and a few mysteries linger. Decisions must be made; truths faced. Therese, tough yet fragile, procrastinates in seeking health care, thus frustrating loved ones. Carol embraces their future, but is she still tethered to her past? Can they stay the course? If there is one thing they know too well, life has its heavens and hells as they prepare for the Year of the Dragon.
This is a sequel/continuation of “In the Year of Hagoromo Chalk.” It can be read as a standalone, but for greater clarity, reading “In the Year of Hagoromo Chalk” will help.
