    Summary

“I suspect this will be our last evening together, dear boy.”

There’s a moment of silence and Crowley is very acutely aware that Aziraphale is now stroking his fingers across his wrist. It goes on like that until the fires of excitement have died into nothing but warm embers.

He looks up at Crowley, smiling very gently. “And just when you’d slowed down enough for me to catch up to you.”

All the air is sucked like a vacuum from Crowley’s lungs.

    Summary

Carla Wright was not one of the many devoted postal workers who worked tirelessly to ensure the mail reached its destination in time, intact, and untampered with. Carla Wright was the kind of postal worker who read people's personal letters when she was bored. The front of today's most promising envelope said "Anthony J. Crowley" in beautiful calligraphy, while the return address was simply a bookshop.

    Aziraphale pours his heart out.

Neither Heaven nor Hell could destroy them, and they deserve all the time in the world to celebrate. And to figure out what they want to be, now that they can.

(It turns out that what they want is to blissfully touch their metaphysical essences together, which means dealing with a little bit of angel/demon incompatibility. But even though "angels" and "demons" might not be compatible, Aziraphale and Crowley are, so everything's alright in the end.)

    Summary

“So we’re supposed to. Uh,” Crowley begins, and then stops.

Aziraphale doesn’t blame him. The first time he’d read the prophecy it’d seemed vague and unhelpful, but then they’d worked out that the “fire” referenced was probably Hellfire, that Heaven and Hell were coming for them, and that the only way out was to. Well.

“Seems that way,” Aziraphale says, with far more evenness than he feels. His face is the colour of just having been told by a 17th century witch to mix essences with the demon one adores. That is to say, it’s very, very red.

    Summary

It was…intriguing, Aziraphale had to admit. “Curiosity killed the cat,” he told himself sternly. But then, satisfaction brought it back – wasn’t that the rest of the saying? However it went, he could already tell that he would be fretting the night away if he didn’t give in to temptation.

(Aziraphale discovers that Crowley satisfied his loneliness in the previous decade by posting intimate videos of himself online - videos that Aziraphale himself was never meant to see.)
