After a century, the immortals had to eventually move on from the loss of Nicoló to the sea. They went from four to two quickly, when Yusuf refused to leave his lost lover and did not forgive them for what he saw as their abandonment.
When Nile meets Andy, Quynh, and Booker they seem to function as a family unit. The late addition of an angry, unpredictable Joe sort of fit in as the 'weird uncle'.

Eve was not the best person in the world. Sometimes she didn’t hold the elevator open when she saw people rushing to catch it from the other side of the lobby. Cutting the line at Starbucks was a semi-regular action.
But Eve did not deserve to be Neil fucking Josten's publicist.
Or, the one where Neil does what he wants, picks fights with reporters, discovers Twitter, breaks the internet, and really shouldn't be allowed out of his house.
Andrew does nothing to discourage him.
Neil was just the newest Alex, Stefan, Chris. Neil had arrived with dyed hair, false eyes, and an American accent. ‘Neil’ was a skin he’d slipped on as easily as ‘James’ in England or ‘Jacques’ in Montreal. He wasn’t anyone, really. ‘Abram’ might be the common denominator, maybe the neutral label for the conundrum of a human he’d always been, but even that person didn’t exist.
Abram didn’t know if he had ever really existed.
Adam was staring at himself. Or, a dream copy of himself. Down to the loose t-shirt and threadbare jeans, it was him.
Oddly enough, Adam’s first thought was, 'is that what I look like from the side?'
Ronan has nightmarish versions of an Adam that knows his second secret, a version that is nothing short of disgusted by it. But when the real Adam Parrish sees the dream creature, he sets out to prove Ronan wrong.

“Oh yeah, Sargent, Gansey, Lynch, and Parrish were all recruited together from some town in Bumfuck, Virginia. Coach only really wanted Ronan and Gansey, but they wouldn’t sign unless the other two came with. They’re all pretty good, so it wasn’t a bad move in the end.”
But just because Matt didn’t consider them an active threat didn’t mean that they weren’t. Something about the four didn’t settle right with Neil. He was determined to figure them out.
Dave glanced up from his phone, but quickly saw he hadn’t arrived at his floor yet. Instead, another man walked in; all flowing limbs and tousled hair with dark glasses on his face. He immediately threw himself against the back wall, tipping his head back and bracing his arms behind him on the handrail.
“Hey, uh, what floor?” Dave asked, realizing the man had no intentions of pressing the button himself.
“Oh! Right. Uh, 16th, please. Apparently, my sister requires my immediate presence, hangover be damned.”

They are children of magic. It's in their bones, boils in their blood and echoes to the drum of their hearts. They belong to the Ocean, deserts, to remote forests and woods, they are destined to so much more than the Isle and dream of a sky full of stars, no clouds on sight.
Meanwhile, they will sing in Goblin Wharf expecting their voice reach unknown shores, dance intrincated rituals in the night, rejoiced in darkness awaiting to one day see the sun, they will be rocked by the quiet swinging of a ship.
And then, the son of a coward King - heir of their captor - decided it was time to get them out.
Auradon is not ready.
The barrier nulifies magic but can not erase what already existed.
Mal is a fairy, Fae from head to toe, she feels it everytime someone gives her a name to posess and something in her chest tighten for the deals people unintentionally make with her; she tried, so hard, to ignore what people temptingly offer but she wasn't raised to be benevolent. Magic is her essence, for all intents and purposes, the barrier couldn't take that from her without killing her.
Mal her mother’s voice says as she breathes in and closes her eyes. Fae she reminds herself. You are fae. Your word is truth. Your Promises are always fulfilled.
Korë her father’s name for her echoes through her mind as she exhales. You are half goddess. Don’t forget. Never let anyone hold something over you.
She opens her eyes.
“Every child currently on the Isle of the Lost will be given a chance to come to Auradon if it pleases them,” she swears. Uma’s eyes narrow and she completes her vow, “I Promise.”
She feels the weight of the Promise settle on her. Underneath her tongue, in her bones and her teeth. It thrums in her blood. She will keep this Promise, or she will die.
She has come too far to die.

“Hey, I’ve got a crazy idea” Vanya says. “If you promise me you won’t get high or drunk again, I promise you I’ll stop taking my pills too”
Klaus laughs, a little humorlessly. “What? Like some fucked up sobriety pact? I quit my drugs and you quit daddy dearest’s mystery pills?”
