    Summary

Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round.

    Not that he cares, pfft.

Ha, Izuku Midoriya caring about Katsuki Bakugou, thinking he's pretty cute and not half bad once you get past the asshole persona; though that gargantuan ego of his could take a dive off a very tall cliff.

    (Fine, he cares.)

    Summary

Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it.

But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.

Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Excellent BNHA story with a Quirk possessor!Izuku. Amazingly written, YUTS focuses more on the small changes to the canon story rather than an entirely new story line, and as such fully explores the consequences of said changes.

The serious subject matters that are just mentionned in canon are treated realisticly here (Katsuki bullying Izuku, Endeavor's abuse, Mineta's sexual harassement...) but with subtlety and a down to earth approach that doesn't overdramatize or romanticize them, but show them in their stark truth without minimizing them either (quite the contrary in some cases).

The characters are a pleasure to read, especially the ones that don't get a lot of screen time in canon and have much more proeminent roles in this story. They all behave like real people, have their flaws and their motivations and their interactions and relationships are believable.

But most of all, despite following the canon story arcs, YUTS still manages to be nailbitingly exciting, an emotional rollercoaster and truly suprising. Do yourself a favor and read it !
