Steve knew that face, maybe better than his own. “Bucky?”

“The serum seems to be sorting out Rogers. He still has remainders in his bloodstream of the biological agent we’ve traced back to the flowers from Nowhere. Thor ID’d them. They’re the, uh, vines currently blowing Barton’s mind,” Tony continued, blithely ignoring the sounds coming from the Barton-Barnes end of the row of containment. He brought up charts and graphs on holoscreens that Darcy had no hope of ever seeing without her glasses. (Truthfully, she was grateful not to have her glasses, she decided, when she heard Barton start choking his chicken again.) “They’re some kind of spring festival flower, packed with wicked pheromones that force you to fuck until you die or to possibly fuck to live. We’re not sure yet. Allspeak isn’t infallible, so we’re running some additional scans before we run the risk of letting Barton fuck it out with the Growl Next Door.” He pointed to Bucky’s containment unit, where Bucky did, in fact, seem to be growling. And…suddenly looked a lot furrier than she remembered. “Barton got dosed with the Nowhere specimen, because Barnes is a romantical son of a bitch and Barton just had to stick his face in the want-sum-fuck space flowers because he has exactly zero self-preservation instincts.”

In fact, when she glanced over his shoulder, there was no mistaking the small crowd of revelers who’d gathered to enjoy the entertainment of one of the many harvest maidens sampling her warrior’s wares, and a royal princess of Odin's court, too.
Something about it, the eyes on her, the strangeness of it, the anonymity of the masks and the festival and the freedom to just ...lean in and enjoy it for once in her patriarchy-repressed life. It wound her right up all over again and she lost the rhythm. She needed it, needed him so bad. “Please, please,” she panted, rearing up and chewing at his throat, his jaw, even his mouth. He gave as good as he got, bruising Darcy’s lips and dipping into her mouth to taste the traces of mead still clinging to her tongue.

Summary
An unemployed pot-smoking slacker and amateur diplomat, Darcy Lewis ditches Earth and hits the road, eventually chilling with friends and kindred spirits, Thor and Jane, in viking space. While the kooky former intern is introduced to the Allfather, she slays a wild mundak and is recognized as Thor's sister for her bravery, allowing Princess Darcy to continue her many misadventures and ultimately help her BFF rebuild the Bifrost observatory on Midgard, reopening space travel to Earth for all of mankind.
But first, she's gotta rescue her iPod (and the Team Cap Scoobies) with Steve and Bucky, and she sort of, accidentally, invades Midgard with a force of Odin's Einherjar along the way. But it's coolio because Darcy's got a gift for making lemonade out of stuff, like that time the Light Elves made her their Elf Queen, and that other time, she saved Fandral from an overamorous Giant Hare. Besides all that, parades are fun and Darcy rocks a horned helm like nobody's bidness.
*Originally conceived as a road trip through space inspired by Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke.
